I am excited to be preparing for and participating in field and lab work with project ARISE and have recently returned from the first CAO cruise to the Barents Sea. On the ARISE project, I am looking at the bottom of the foodweb and nutrient and isotope cycling of nitrogen, carbon and silicon in the Arctic Ocean. My current masters research project focuses on DIC.
I am passionate about understanding how climate change will impact various environmental processes, specifically, marine biogeochemical cycling in the Arctic and the consequences these changes have on our complex ocean systems.
The ocean is facing many challenges and it is fascinating to assess how societal changes and policy can be used as tools, alongside science, to lessen and adapt to climate warming.
