Yuri Artioli is a senior ecosystem modeller at Plymouth Marine Laboratory.
For the last 15 years, Yuri has studied the impact of climate change, ocean acidification and direct anthropogenic drivers on all levels of marine ecosystems (from biogeochemistry to plankton to invertebrate) and associated services (from climate regulation to food provision).
He is a leading developer of the ERSEM model, particularly regarding carbonate chemistry, greenhouse gas production and impacts of multiple stressors on biogeochemical and physiological processes.
Previously focussed on temperate shelf seas, he is looking forward to the challenges of modelling the Arctic ecosystem.
He will lead the modelling work package of PETRA, expanding ERSEM ability in simulating CO and DMS in the Arctic.
